Lynne L. Harrison lives in Canmore with the majestic peaks of the Three Sisters, Mt. Lawrence Grassi and Mt. Rundle dominating the view she enjoys all day from her window.
While attending Carleton University in Ottawa for Journalism and English, Lynne headed to Whistler BC for a semester to ski. She has been out west ever since! Finding inspiration in the mountains that she loves so much, Lynne called upon the talents she'd worked on since childhood - and while working full time and raising two children - continued to paint, working with acrylic on paper.
Lynne moved to Canmore in 2000 to be with her fiancee who suffered a severe head injury a few months after her arrival, which was to keep her even busier as a partner and therapist. Painting again became her outreach into life and the beauty of nature. In 2004 she began using larger canvasses and the bright colours that have since become the hallmark of her style- a uniquely celebrant interpretation of the mountains that continue to give her so much inspiration.
In January of 2006, Lynne was resident artist at Num-ti-Jah Lodge. When she isn't painting, she manages Mountain Image Distributors, spearheads the Dave Irwin Foundation for Brain Injury Recovery, and runs and bikes in the Canadian Rockies.
