Artist Statement
I am
influenced by some masters of 'still life' from the French, Dutch, and Spanish
traditions. I like the immediacy, sensuality, and intensity of colour - using
the medium of chalk pastel with my hands as brushes. I want the ordinary to
become extraordinary and I take great delight in referring to everyday items as
I arrange my compositions and execute the drawings and paintings.
