Biography

Allyson was born in Saskatoon Saskatchewan; she spent the first 13 years of her life in Portland Oregon. Her family moved back to Saskatoon where she graduated from the University of Saskatchewan. A gypsy at heart, Allyson’s landscapes reflect a strong desire to travel and experience new environments. With a background in watercolour, she describes her current work as sensual and rich. She uses a wide variety of techniques to coax her images from the utilitarian nature of fabric. She does not limit her work to one particular style or technique, but uses fabric, thread and beads as a vehicle for her 3 dimensional images. She has lived in Canmore for the past 14 years with her husband, Mike and her 2 daughters Erin and Caitlin.
