Curtis Golomb
Born in Northern Ontario in 1963, Curtis now resides in Canmore, Alberta and has been painting since the age of fifteen. Being self-taught, his style developed independently. His ability to employ different styles and techniques has allowed him to express scenes, as he desires. This Southern Alberta Artist has developed a widespread reputation for his colorful and evocative landscapes. He spends countless hours seeking inspiration as he wanders the wilds capturing those moments of solitude and serenity that many of us have had the pleasure of enjoying while exploring the outdoors. “I usually work from both location sketches, and photos taken in the field. My main objective has always been to employ strong compositional elements, sound principles of design, and solid color harmony. Pushing watercolor to new levels of contrast, drama, and color, the final piece should evoke emotions, and feelings so that each scene can be related to one's own life experiences.”
